Facts about Argan Oil


Argan oil is one of the rarest oils in the world and differs significantly from other high-quality oils due to its particularly high content (over 80%) of valuable unsaturated fatty acids and powerful antioxidants. Popular in both food preparation and nutritional supplements, it has a credible history in skin and hair care.

Argan oil is used as a natural hair care treatment against dry, brittle hair and hair loss, and is a unique cosmetic for dry, mature and damaged skin high content of E-vitamin and the powerful antioxidant effect as a dietary supplement.

Argan oil from roasted kernels, with its nutty taste, is a special kind of gourmet edible oil and is also a healthy food.

Argan oil (Morocco's Gold) is obtained from the fruits of the argan tree (lat. argania spinosa). The argan tree is one of the oldest trees in the world and only grows in southwestern Morocco. It is very resistant to heat, drought and poor soil and can live between 150 and 200 years. A peculiar tree, often reaching 10 m in height and up to 15 m in girth. The tree can bear fruit several times a year. The plum or olive-like fruits cannot be used as food for humans. The nuts, which are surrounded by the pulp, are 3x the size of hazelnuts. They are very hard and difficult to crack. Inside the nut is a kernel smaller than a sunflower kernel. The argan oil is extracted from these cores by manual processing and cold pressing.

Approx. 20-30 kg of nuts are needed for 1 liter of oil.
