Facts about sulphur
Sulphur is well-known from natural sulphur springs and from spas. Indirectly also from the famous mud baths where sulphur compounds to a large degree are responsible for a positive influence on many physical disorders. These sulphur spas are still recommended for skin diseases such as psoriasis and skin problems that result from fungus and rheumatism. Furthermore sulphur is widely represented in cosmetic products for treating blemished skin, dandruff, greasy hair etc. Sulphur fights and kills micro-organisms. This is for instance used in the food industry. It is well-known from wine production where the fermentation is stopped with sulphur and from fruits which are treated with sulphur to protect against fungus and mould attack.
Sulphur is a naturally occurring substance and an important part of the complicated chemistry of the body. Likewise, sulphur is found in the plant world and remarkably in e.g. sage and garlic, two plants which are very often used within herbal medicine.
